Newly Registered
We have an introduction section for a reason.ALL newly registered members must introduce themselves in the introduction section. From your registration date you have 24 hours to make a thread or else your account may result in removal or banning. We ask that you introduce yourselves because Mapleology is NOT here to provide resources for you to run off with. We are a community coming together to improve together. If you have not made an introduction thread in 24 hours with a legitimate reason and have been banned, please contact one of our Admins and/or Moderators.

Impersonation
Impersonation is the act of pretending to be someone you are not. This includes having a fake username that does not represent you, making a fake username to make someone look bad, or anything along those lines. Failure to abide to this rule will result in a permanent IP ban and you will no longer be welcomed to this forum.

Avatars, Signatures, & Image Content
We ask that you be mature about the content you place on our forum. Any explicit images found in your avatar, signature, or ANYWHERE on the forum will be removed and you will receive a 30 level warn. No derogatory or offensive Avatars/Signatures are allowed.
As for image sizes, our avatars can be a maximum of 150 x 200 pixels. Our maximum signature size for a signature is 600x150 (in pixels, of course). This includes the image, text, AND spoilers. However, we have an exception for a block of text used for credits used in your avatar or signature. As for large images in threads, they may lag the members viewing a topic. So we kindly ask you that if an image is over 500 x 500 pixels, please place it in a spoiler by typing [.spoiler]IMAGEHERE[./spoiler] (without the periods of course). Also, if you have more than one image, please place all of them in a spoiler to avoid lag as well. c:

Objectionable Material
Adult content is prohibited. Because this forum is supposed to be family friendly, discussion or linking of adult sites is prohibited. Links to adult content and/or posting of jokes or comments of an adult nature in either forum posts or user profile are prohibited. All links to adult content, within forum posts will be immediately deleted and the posters will be issued an official warning from the staff. Adult links located within your user profile will be deleted by the administrator. The posting of EYE CANDY, and/or direct links to such content is not allowed. We ask strongly that you be considerate of other members and viewers of this forum because the content you place on our forum has a high chance of being viewed. Our view of explicit content goes to means as of pornography, racist contest, drug promotion, and scary/horrifying images that make members piss their pants. Posting such content will result in a 20 level warn, and depending on how severe the content rises to, a temporary and/or permanent ban.
No nudity, violent, graphic, illegal or racist images/logos/words. Please keep it PG-13.

Chatbox
Advertising your videos in our chatbox is not allowed.
If you wish to advertise, please use the FORUM. This is why we have a forum. However, you are free to advertise the LINK to your video/animation/etc. (Spamming the link is not allowed.) We ask for you not to waste space in the chatbox with videos and images over 150x150 because it wastes space and may cause lag to other members. Please be considerate if you DO post an image under 150x150 that it may not contain any explicit content. Also, we understand how laggy it gets in the chatbox when it is spammed, so please do not spam the chatbox. Failing to follow these rules after being told twice will result in a warn. We also ask for you to follow these rules even if you are alone.
Our staff also asks that members do not use oversized text in the chatbox. We promise that our staff will not abuse our powers to use oversized text unless we may have an important announcement about the forum.

Flaming
Please be considerate of other members on this forum.
Do not use offensive insults directed towards another member. If you are going to flame, please use our Flaming Zone to steam off. BUT, if you are flaming a member on this forum, or even on the internet, please keep their name anonymous. We hope that you will follow this rule so that you will not get sued for defamation by someone who is offended by what you post. Failure to follow this rule may possibly result in a 5 level warn, depending on the content of it, the warn level may rise. All offensive posts may be deleted as well if they were found to be extremely repulsive towards the directed target.

Trolling/Flame Baiting
Trolling is very much like flaming. It is a comment that is deliberately posted to cause a disruption. Typically, these comments are made to make other members of the community upset, angry, or irritated. Some of these comments can be off-topic as well. This means that you should be careful about going too far 'off-topic' as it could be considered as an attempt to troll the thread. While 'trolling' is a subjective term, there has been a basic definition given to you. So please be careful as to how you post, or else it may warrant a warning and possibly a ban depending on how severe the comment was. Use common sense and think about how other members feel when you are posting.

Snooping
Our term of "snooping" is simply making an account to just see what is going on with this forum in order to steal/flame/inform some master head source or so. We have already had an issue with this rule with one of our members. This rule is fairly new, and there will be consequences from now on.
Snooping will result in a permanent IP ban.

Illegal Discussion
Discussing things like pirating software is STRICTLY forbidden. Our community does NOT promote the usage of illegal software. Talking about such subjects will result in a 10 level warn and the thread or post in which it was discussed will be deleted. Talking about violating any other sites' terms of service is also categorized as "illegal discussions". Hacking, botting or selling discussions also go against our rules.
We are not here to make you rich. Failure to comply with this rule will warrant in a PERMANENT BAN in most cases.
Discussing extremely personal or contradictory things (i.e. religious topics, haunting, ghosts, etc.) is also inappropriate. Ranting over other members is also not accepted here.

Spamming
Spamming is the act of posting something that is completely unrelated to the topic. Any posts within a thread which do not contribute to the thread whatsoever will be considered spam. Posting something that has no relevancy or usefulness to the thread in which you have posted it in will result in a warning. On top of the basic principle behind spamming, we also tend to agree that posts that have less than five words will be considered spam unless it is very relevant to the thread's original topic.
There are 2 forms of Spamming warning:
Spamming I can be given out for a single offense.
For repeat offenders,
Spamming II or a stronger warning can be given. Extremely short irrelevant posts, pointless posts, or off-topic posts are included. Therefore, if your post is irrelevant/off-topic, it WILL be warned.
If not, you won't be warned.

Double Posting & Bumping
If the last post in a topic was posted by you, please do not post again until someone posts after you. It will be considered double posting, and you will probably get a warn. This may also be referred to as spam, and it is still not allowed. If you have more to say but did not say it in your last post, you are welcome to use the "edit" button to edit your post. The only exception is called bumping.
Users posting updates in any gallery/shop of theirs are allowed to bump their thread up to reveal their updates. However, this only goes for the OWNER OF THE THREAD! If you happen to have a question about this rule, please contact any of the Admins/Moderators.

Necroposting
'Necroposting' or is reviving a dead (or old) thread. An 'old thread' would be considered any thread older than 2 weeks without a reply. While there are some "good" topics out there, there are just as many 'stupid' ones. If you revive one of the "stupid" ones, you will most likely be warned. On the other hand, if you revive a good thread (but with a horrible reply or if you spam it), you will also be warned. Finally, if you revive a good topic, with a good reply, it's all good. In other words, don't be petrified of necroposting, but try to be very objective in regards to what a thread would be considered prior to reviving it. Necroposting to some extent will not be tolerated and a sufficient amount of warns shall be given to the extent in which you have necroposted. If you need to know if a thread is "good" and if your reply if "good", please contact an admin or moderator through PM.

Topics including Mature Content
Though creating mature topics will be allowed, please remember that this forum is generally "family friendly". So be sure to put "(MATURE CONTENT)" in the title of your topic. This will help steer away the younger members of our forum. Although we are allowing mature topics, this does NOT mean you will be allowed to post pornography, or any inappropriate pictures. Failure to label content for maturity with "MATURE CONTENT" Will result in a 2 level warn.

Disrespect of Authority
This warning is considered similar to a “flaming” warning but it is mostly centered on responses toward moderator actions, judgment or activities. Mapleology staff members do not tolerate any form of verbal abuse from users and will assign this warning if this situation arises This is includes public challenging of the management team. Users who purposely and publicly challenge the ruling, warning, and/or actions of the management team are subject to an immediate ban without further warning. Any and all issues concerning any member of the management team are to be ADDRESSED BY PM TO THE ADMINISTRATOR(S) OF THE SITE ONLY.

Warning Whining
We warn members for a reason. It is because they have simply broken a rule. If you wish to dispute your warn, please take it maturely and into the Warn Dispute/Removal section. Our staff only warns those who have broken a rule. If you whine about a warn, you will again be warned.

E-Drama
E-Drama is simply drama online.
Hence the "E" and the "Drama" part. We ask that you do not stir up trouble on our forum or you may not be welcomed here again. If you wish to discuss any drama that has happened outside of the Internet, we ask that you use our Advisory section for help. However, please keep the drama to it's necessities and don't worsen it.
In other words, keep the drama low, woman. (No sexism intended. It's a meme/famous phrase.)

Multiple Accounts
We do not condone any type of secondary account. If you wish to make another account, think otherwise. If you were banned, wait out your suspension duration. Otherwise, all accounts resolving to the source will be banned. This also includes accounts made for the sole purpose of rule breaking in attempt to avoid a ban on your "main account".
In other words:
Each person is entitled to one account and one account only. Having more than one account is not permitted and all accounts [including the original] will be banned! You may also be IP banned forever.

Also the registering user is held responsible for what goes on with their account! This means that if you let your friend/sibling/whatever post on it, and if they break a rule on it, YOUR account will be punished accordingly.

Making another account when your first account has been banned WILL result in a permanent IP ban.

Failure at Life & General Idiocy
These two warnings are given out to users who have posted incredibly offensive or insulting material (basically a stronger version of flaming or trolling). They are stronger warnings which can result in the user being banned. Failure at life requires an existing post in order to be awarded, but general idiocy can be given with or without the user posting.

Fangasm Content
Everyone on this forum is equal. We ask that if you find your favorite animator/idol on our forum, please keep your cool. Do not go around saying "HOMGSKFJLE ITS _____! EE. WILL YOU PLAZ MAKE ME A VIDEOH. ?! PLSPLSPLS ILY!" or something similar to that. Result - Users may get annoyed at you and you will be warned. Animators come here to hang out with other animators and post some of their videos/animations, NOT to be stalked by fans.

Hacking & Hacker Related Threads
We do not condone hacking or hacker related topics. With this being said, you should not post screenshots of hackers or hackings in any thread or post.
Hacker-related threads may not be immediately deleted, but at the first sight of problems (revealing in details as to how hacks work, flaming, insults, or any other problems that violate our rules or Nexon's TOS) the thread will be removed permanently, and the user will be warned.

Advertising & Referral Links
If you do not have permission from a Mapleology staff member to advertise a website of your's or a friend's... just don't advertise! This is to prevent any explicit content from getting viewed by sensitive members. Now, don't go on blaming the viewer for lookingat it; we are HUMAN. Curiosity WILL get a hold of us at times and it if your fault for posting the link in the first place.
Mapleology is not here for your own personal and/or financial gain. As for linking to sites that may become useful, such as in resources, you are free to link to them in the appropriate forum section.

Temporary Ban & Account Ban
Moderators can, at their discretion, suspend an account at any time for an indefinite amount of time ranging from several days to permanently. Temporary bans can be either directly issued or they can be the result of an accumulation of warnings (7 straight active warnings or a warning level greater then 100%). Account bans can occur based on the user's conduct. Excessive warnings and bans can lead to a complete account ban. (Permanent)
Participating in illegal activities that violate Mapleology's ToS can also result in a ban.

Inactive Accounts
Inactive accounts who are inactive for 30 days, and with a post count under 10 since their registration, will be deleted.

The staff of Mapleology begs of thee to follow the rules above.
Our staff will not warn you for other reasons, and we will tell you what you have been warned for in an edit to your rule-breaking post, or a PM mailed to you.
